Well, if that isn't the cutest "little" thing! (and I don't just mean the blankie.) I don't think I've ever seen a granny square that big but it really works. Congrats on finding a good recycling project.

Wow!! That's totally incredible. I love how all the colours shimmer. Did you carefully plan it, or is it random? What a great way to turn leftovers into something of beauty and utility.
It was random-ish :)
Towards the end it was so big i needed full 50 gm skeins to get around the perimeter two times so I picked unused skeins of yarns that I loved but the bulk of it is truly leftover scraps and I just picked what looked good as I went along!

Holy CRAPOLI! That thing is huge. I've been looking at my leftovers and wondering what I could do with them.
I finally caved a few months ago and asked my mom to teach me granny squares. I've been doing tiny, fairy sized things (I'll have to post a picture)... maybe using sock yarn would be a nice break.

what a great idea. I made one of those years, years and years ago when I was selling afghans. I love the colors.
