Three times is the charm?
I'm knitting away on Bonita.
I've finished the front for the SECOND time and since, for me, the front and the back are the same (I'll explain more when the tank is finished which I PRAY is by this weekend!) I'm knitting the same piece for the third time! Ah, the bane of being born a Virgo - perfectionism!
But it is coming out quite lovely and I'm more than eager to be finished, so I'm hoping knitting it three times will be the charm! Soon, soon....
As a respite from all things Bonita I've finished my first pair of socks for the Summer of Socks.
Specs:
Scrolls pattern from More Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch
Smooshy sock yarn by Dream In Color purchased here (Kris just got a new shipment in so hurry on over if you've been dying to try the "it" yarn of the moment) Colorway: Ruby River
Toe up using the Turkish Cast On and magic loop on 32" size 1.5 (2.5 mm) Addi Turbos.
Sewn down picot hem bind off.
I LOVED every stitch of these socks!! The yarn is a *dream* to knit with and the color is just glorious! The yarn is a bit beefier than standard fingering weight so knitting it on size 1.5 needles gave me a nice firm fabric yet the yarn stayed super soft and drapey. I'm totally smitten and will use this delightful sock yarn again and again.....plus the pattern was lots of fun and I always get a lil thrill when I see how easy the Turkish cast on is and how perfect it makes sock toes look! In fact I might be becoming a toe-up convert for just that reason :)
My needles are sockless at the moment (shocking, I know!) but I really want to focus on finishing Bonita because my next "big" project has a deadline and I want to get the ball rolling (and y'all know I can't handle more than 2 WIPs at a time!)
I leave you with one of my favorite pics of the P-Man that I've taken in a while.....he's sitting on "his" rug that he loves to rough up and bunny kick (which I've placed there to protect the carnival throw cause there will be NO bunny kicking of the throw no matter how cute the P-Man is!)
Have a great week!!
PS - no luck on the Kureyon #91 but I'm still looking if anyone happens to find it!

Fingers are crossed for you and Bonita!
He is such a pretty boy.
Oh!
& Great socks!
Hey
I've got an ideas for your Kureyon.
Knitting Fever has a yahoo group. Many of the folks that carry knitting fever are on there. If you go to the knitting fever site and submit a request they will probably put the request on this site.
Idea #2... the yahoo group called KnitList. There's a bazillion knitters on there. Join up and send out an email.
Idea #3.... didn't Ravelry just start a swap area?
The socks are beautiful (and so is the P-Man!). Can't wait to see Bonita.
Me again...
Guess I should explain the Knitting Fever idea..... Noro is distributed by Knitting Fever.
Sorry bout that.
Kris:
I know KFI distributes Noro.
I have posted to the Ravelry Swap and the Ravelry Noro group.
Gonna go try the Knitting Fever site.
Thanx :)
I love those new socks - the yarn and pattern are a perfect match! And I know what you mean about Pumpkin and the rug. There is a throw rug in our bedroom that Mason bunny kicks, too. It cracks me up!
Fabulous!!! Love those socks!!
Those are gorgeous. I just got some Smooshy sock yarn myself--can't wait to cast on now!
Yes Deb, he is gorgeous! Such an adorable looking lamblet. He looks much too sweet to bunny kick his mummy's new afghan but I know even the sweetest will do unacceptable things from time to time. Love the socks. Hope to get some of the yarn myself.
Bye from Ann and the fur babies.
You, a perfectionist? Perish the thought...
The Scroll socks are divine and what's not to love about Smooshy? Great yardage and beautifully blended colors.
Of course Pumpkin looks purrr-fectly handsome atop his green "throne" - no bunny-kicking allowed!
Those are GREAT socks!
Love those socks, such a pretty color and the design is pretty too! Good luck with Bonita. I hope you get done with knitting the third piece soon. That's no fun reknitting the piece over and over, such dedication. I must not be a very good Virgo b/c I'm not that dedicated to perfectionism.
Oh he's just too adorable!!! P-Man has the sweetest kitty face. :)
See it's when I see socks like those that I know I must become a sock knitter at some point. =)
Those socks are gorgeous -- wonderful match of colour and pattern!
Smooshy is the word! They look fab!
Your Smooshy Scrolls are simply stunning! Lovely pattern, lovely yarn.
Good luck on finishing side four of Bonita!
I adore those socks. Gorgeous pattern and the colour is splendid.
Your Smooshie Scrolls are beautiful, and the color is great too. Good luck on Bonita, and I can't wait to see the finished results. That may be one of the cutest P-man shots you have posted yet. Happy knitting.
LOVE the socks! Must put that stitch on my list of must knits.
I also love toe-ups due in large part to your Turkish cast-on tutorial! Thanks for that!
Wonderful looking socks! I love the color as well as the pattern.
Beautiful socks!
Of course it goes without saying that the P-Man is GORGEOUS!
What a cute fella he is...bunny kicks. I don't see those much anymore...my girls are that interested!
Love those socks...can't wait to hear Bonita sagas...
(((hugs)))
the socks look so nice and comfy! i have that book, but haven't gotten around to knitting anything from it....yet.
Yum! Love the looks of those smooshy scrolls.
Stunning, gorgeous, socks. What size are they? ;)
You probably already did this, but I went to Ravelry, clicked on yarn and typed in Noro 91 - then clicked on kureyon - the first four people that pop up on the page are willing to sell or trade. Hope that helps.
Thanx Chris, but yes I did...in fact I searched ALL the Kureyon people have stashed on Ravelry (like 400+!) sadly the ONLY person with color #91 got back to me and told me she has the yarn earmarked for a sweater and she can't spare any. :(
Oooo, I love those socks! I think I may need to take a break from designing to knit a few patterns and those are at the top of the list!
those socks are beautiful! and i agree, that is one of the cutest p-man pics!
Lovely Smooshy socks! I couldn't resist buying some of the stuff.
Those socks are lovely-looks such an interesting stitch pattern.
I love the scrolls in your socks! It's convinced me to buy the book :-)
What a cutie P-man is.
Gorgeous socks! And here I thought the P-Man was such a spoiled little guy, no fun mom!
Oh pretty socks!!
