Old socks, new socks, pink socks, blue socks

Best chuckle of the day....

I was checking my blog stats and I saw a lot of visitors from a particular site so I clicked on the link to see what was making FKD so popular. It was a blog from a woman in France and the link on her sidebar was for my beading tutorial .....It was listed as "Blog de Fluffy" :)

Yesterday was the first day of summer so of course that means it's

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Summer of Socks 2007!!

Here's my first sock of summer.....

It's the "new" pink sock - Dream in Color Smooshy sock yarn in the Ruby River colorway and it's totally luscious!! Really soft and look at that color!

It's a toe up sock using the Turkish cast on and Scroll Lace from More Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch, another great sock book BTW.

Now here's the "old" blue sock...a finished Thelonious!

Specs:

Thelonious designed by Cookie A.

2 skeins Gems Pearl, colorway Neptune. Size US#1 (2.25mm) Aero DPNs

ETA: The pattern states that the "sock is not as stretchy as regular rib because of the traveling stitches". Because of this I used a US #1.5 (2.5 mm) for the leg and switched to the smaller needle for the rest of the sock.

Mods: NONE!! because Cookie is such an amazing designer I knit every stitch as the pattern suggested and loved every one!

It's a great pattern and a really great looking sock - the chart may look overwhelming but it's very intuitive and once you get into it, it's a really fun and interesting knit! I can't recommend Cookie's patterns highly enough but I know that's preaching to the choir cause almost everyone is already knitting her Monkey pattern :)

My other WIP is Bonita, here's her progress....

I'm absolutely LOVING this tank! I just wish I could capture the true grassy spring green of the yarn and the beautiful beads.

I leave you with my favorite guy hanging out in one of his favorite spots......

whatever pattern I'm working on (and trying to read!) Maybe if he does it enough he'll let me teach HIM to knit :)

Have a great first weekend of summer from all of us here at Blog de Fluffy!

And can I get a skein of Smooshy? Oh of course NOT...all of you in Summer of Socks have apparently bought it all!
THAT IS THE MOST GORGEOUS COLORWAY I'VE EVER SEEN!
ok...calm now. (grins)
I'm really not upset...I'll get some eventually - I'm not in Summer of Socks....

I'll just quietly sit here and drool over my favorite man - The P-MAN, of course!
Happy Weekend!
(((hugs)))

Wow! The Thelonius socks are beautiful. Another example of not having the urge to knit a pattern at all until I see someone else's. :)

Great sockage at your house - both pairs fill me with awe, socktard that I am. Good luck with SoS!

The socks are beauties! Le Cool on the Blog Le Fluff :) Think the P-Man would really want to learn? I wonder what he'd knit.

Momoze used to always do that too.

Bonita is living up to her name! I love those beads. You never did tell me who your supplier is.

Love,

I love the blue color of your Thelonius socks, the pattern of course too, but the blue... me likes! ;o) I saw a Bonita Top on another blog, but I don't think she used beads, but she's wearing it back side front. Here's a link if you like to see hers.

You evil enable, you! First Forest Path, and now Thelonius. I loved your socks so much I headed on over to Cookie A.'s site and downloaded the pattern. Those will definitely be my next pair (after the plain vanilla ones I have started).

the tank is beautiful knitted with beads.

Your smooshy looks like it is going to make a great pair! I may be the only person in Bloglandia who is unfamiliar with Cookie, or her much celebrated "Monkey" pattern.

Also, I really think that the Bonita tank is going to be fantastic. The colors are right up my alley, and I have become such a bead slut.

Happy knitting!

Thelonius is looking fabulous! And Pumpkin looks so cute with that afghan as his backdrop. Those are definitely his colors!

Oh, La, La, Blog De Fluffy! I had never liked Thelonius until I saw yours, like I need another pattern in my line-up! Didn't get into the Summer of Socks, but oh, well. I'll knit them and enjoy everyone elses along with them. Must go print out the "Monkey"

Thelonius is high on my list! I love your blue, too. P-man...you look so good!

I love that "blog de fluffy"! Too cute. I need to get a new pair of socks on the needles. Here we are two days into the summer of socks already. I'm slacking!

You win the "Blogger most likely to make me spend money before getting dressed" award!

Just downloaded Thelonious and looking forward to knitting them - as soon as I get a few other things off the needles.

Your knitting is gorgeous, as always. Looking forward to watching your Summer of Socks.

Where to start?
Thelonius look really good.
The new pink sock looks really intriguing.
The tank is stunning.
The P-man looks regal.
I think that's it!

The Thelonious socks look great! I like the new sock too. And, do tell us about that chartreuse nail polish. Yee-haw!

Leslie said...

Thelonious looks great as does the ever handsome P-man. But Debi I am really surprised at you - you didn't change your fingernail polish for the picture with the smooshy sock yarn - green with a red/purple (red hat lady) motif??? tsk tsk LOL

Diane said...

P-man; protector of the patterns! "If I cover this then Debi can't use those pointy things and will have to pet me."

Your Thelonious socks are fabulous absolutely fabulous. So is the beginning of the new sock.

Zarzuela said...

Beautiful Thelonius! I like the color on the new ones you started too. Your P-man is just like my little girl, she thinks that she is way more important than whatever I'm trying to read or do! :)
