Well, maybe not a redneck but a southern girl for sure!
So in honor of World Grits Day Kris came up with Grits n' Sticks, an annual celebration for those of us with a love of sticks (knit or crochet) and a hankerin' for a big bowl of grits!

The P-Man's a southern man, born and bred and he loves him some cheesy grits! He's getting ready to lick the bowl in this pic :)
I had no idea there was a World Grits day!!! But somehow it just seems so right! I'm off to fix some!

ReplyDeleteWoo! There is a world day for grits? I learned of grits when watching "My Cousin Vinny" ... a very funny movie! Never have the chance to eat grits though.

Just like Agnes my knowledge of grits comes *soley* from My Cousin Vinny. It was an oscar-winning film, so I don't feel too bad. I think they are corn, right?

ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVEloveLOVE grits. I must have been a southerner in a past life. I like them with a fried egg and all chopped/mixed up together (okay, I did learn that in the south - Florida to be exact).

ReplyDeleteChristine- Since you left me no way to contact you, I hope you'll come back to read this....go to my actual site and find the button that says "subscribe to FKD" and use it to subscribe to bloglines. You'll be able to read with black text on a white background. The other option is to highlight the whole page and the writing will appear white on a blue background! HTH!

ReplyDeleteJust got online after our phone conversation and checked out the sock picture, I know the ones you were talking about! They're in my wardrobe :D When you mentioned the color black and white in conjunction with the lacing, my mind sort of had this visulization of a zebra sock.. lol I have them right beside the beautiful shawl you made for me :) (They even have a special section of the wardrobe!)My brain doesn't work the way it used to.. :( although zebra socks would be kinda cool.. :p (that's not a hint). Love ya bunches!
Shame on me for not knowing! OK, don't get grossed out, but I eat mine like a northerner. Sugar and milk. Yeah, I know...
