Extraordinary Kindnesses

The knitting community is so amazing! I want to say a heartfelt thank you for the outpouring of kindness and support for this very difficult time.

Losing BOTH my beloved boys in the space of less than 3 months has caused my heart to shatter. The things that keep me sane are the generosity of my knitting friends and my sweet Pumpkin. I thank god for both!

As a way of saying thanks, I've posted two free sock patterns on my side bar. The first is Rob's Twined Rib Sock.

This is written for sportweight yarn (I used Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in Camouflage and Cedar) and a men's size 10.5. It's a nice stretchy rib with manly appeal! It would look equally nice in bright colors for a woman's sock.

Next is the Toddler's Twined Rib Sock. My sweet friend Ada adapted my pattern for her almost 2 year old son, Joey.
Aren't they adorable? Also written for sportweight so they fly off the needles!!

Pumpkin loves these socks and couldn't resist trying to steal the show. You can glimpse his little white foot sneaking into to the frame on the Camo socks. Since he's such a cutie, I decided to allow him to be my spokesmodel....
I finished my shawl (lots of stress/insomnia/grief knitting!) but no pics until the daily rain, rain, rain let's up!! Hopefully one day this week! I've got some lovely stash enhancement pics too :)

Just one more BIG thank you to everyone for being so supportive and showing me what RAOK really means!!

Hi Debi -- Just took a second to check out your blog and wanted to say hello! I'm so sorry about your losses and hope that your MC yarns will help to ease the pain just a tad. I would also love to try your sock pattern for some socks for my husband. Take care and happy knitting :-)

Forgot to mention that my mother lives in Florida and I was just there last weekend! Also, I'm VERY new to blogging, but you can check mine out when you have time. Let me know if and when that yarn arrives!

The socks are quite lovely, I think the ribbed ones my husband would like a lot. Pumpkin goes rather well with the socks. Hmmm mabye you could knit her a tail warmer. Okay I don't know any cat that would tollerate a tail warmer.
